Nick Harris is a UK consultant in HE, LLL and quality assurance. He holds a BSc and PhD from the University of Bath, and followed an academic career at the University of Durham (UK). A part-time consultancy at a UK research-funding body led to a 'career change', and he moved to the UK Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) in1998 (just as it was being established). He was a Director from 2002 until his retirement in September 2008. He has been closely involved in qualifications frameworks development across Europe, and undertaken many evaluations, of QA agencies, HE institutions and individual study programmes. He was until recently a UK Bologna Expert and has for several years been an International Advisor to ANECA.
